Campus Emergency Updates

Sunday, January 12 update:

Faculty/Staff:

Beginning at 8 a.m. Monday, January 13, WCU will move from Condition 2 (Suspended Operations) to Condition 1 (Reduced Operations) at both the Cullowhee Campus and the Biltmore instructional site.  Classes and business operations will continue as scheduled. 

All WCU employees should be familiar with the . Commuting faculty and staff should exercise discretion and good judgment in deciding whether to attempt travel during hazardous conditions. Employees should contact supervisors if they cannot safely travel to work. If faculty cannot be present for class, they should contact students regarding class information or modality changes.  Questions about the policy may be directed to the Office of Human Resources at HumanResources@wcu.edu.

Students:

University officials continue to assess the impacts of this weekend’s winter weather on WCU’s Cullowhee Campus and the Biltmore Park Instructional site.

On Monday, all classes and business operations will resume normal operations. For students traveling to the Cullowhee campus or the instructional site at Biltmore Park, please examine your circumstances and use your discretion in determining if you can safely travel to campus.  For those students who feel they cannot safely return to campus, we urge you to contact your instructors to advise them of your situation and obtain class assignments via Canvas and/or email.

University officials will continue to assess weather conditions.  If there are any further changes to operating schedules, we will advise everyone and post the information here.
