Elevating Clinical Reasoning for SLPs Treating SSD in Children
Presenter: A. Lynn Williams, Ph.D., CCC-SLP, BC-CLS
This interactive workshop, “Elevating Clinical Reasoning for SLPs Treating SSD in Children,” is designed to help speech-language pathologists refine their clinical reasoning to move beyond “tips and tricks” placement cues. Participants will learn different approaches to analyze, select treatment targets, and implement evidence-based intervention approaches for speech sound disorders through a deeper understanding of the underlying patterns, contributing factors, and theory. Through case studies, attendees will learn to develop tailored, client-centered interventions. The workshop emphasizes critical thinking, flexibility, and reflective practice, equipping SLPs to navigate complex cases and make informed decisions that will impact intervention outcomes.
