What is the Law School Admission Test (LSAT)?

The (LSAC) provides a wealth of information to students who are considering law school, including information about the LSAT. The is a half-day, paper-based test made up of five 35-minute sections of multiple choice questions and a 35-minute writing sample. The multiple-choice sections of the test will fall into one of three categories:

  • Reading comprehension
  • Analytical reasoning
  • Logical reasoning

When should I sign up for a test?

The LSAT is administered four times a year at designated testing centers across the country. Seats are limited at each test site. You should register as soon as possible to make sure you get a seat at the test center closest to you. Test takers are prohibited from taking the LSAT more than three times in any two-year period.
