Homecoming events include concert by Grammy winner T-Pain, 'wellRED' comedy show

T-Pain, the winner of two Grammy Awards, and Blackbear will be the co-headliners at 甜瓜视频app鈥檚 Homecoming Concert at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 1, at Ramsey Regional Activity Center.

T-Pain, a singer, rapper, songwriter and producer, has had more than 50 chart-topping singles, including 鈥淚鈥檓 Sprung,鈥 鈥淚鈥檓 鈥檔 Luv (Wit a Stripper),鈥 鈥淏uy U a Drank (Shawty Snappin鈥),鈥 鈥淏artender,鈥 鈥淐an鈥檛 Believe It鈥 and 鈥5 O鈥檆lock.鈥 His most successful feature was on FloRida鈥檚 debut single 鈥淟ow,鈥 which was certified 6-time platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America.

Blackbear is a singer, songwriter and producer who has collaborated with Justin Bieber, G-Eazy, Mike Posner, Machine Gun Kelly, Pharrell Williams, Miley Cyrus and Linkin Park. Along with Posner, Blackbear co-wrote 鈥淏oyfriend鈥 by Bieber, which debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100. Blackbear also is a member of the alternative hip-hop and R&B duo Mansionz with Posner.

Opening the concert will be WCU alumnus FreeWill. The concert is sponsored by Campus Activities, Residential Living and Last Minute Productions.

Advance tickets are on sale through Sunday, Sept. 30, at $19.50 and $29.50 for WCU students and $29.50 and $39.50 for the public. Starting Monday, Oct. 1, tickets will be $27.50 and $37.50 for students and $37.50 and $45 for the public. For more information, visit

It also was announced that the Homecoming Comedy Show will feature 鈥渨ellRED: From Dixie With Love,鈥 at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 29, in the John W. Bardo Fine and Performing Arts Center.

The show consists of comedians Trae Crowder ("The Liberal Redneck"), Drew Morgan and Corey Ryan Forrester. It is about celebrating everything great about the South and telling stories from a place of love.  The trio has been featured guests on 鈥淭he View,鈥 鈥淩eal Time with Bill Maher鈥 and 鈥淣ightline.鈥

Tickets are free for WCU students and can be picked up at the A.K. Hinds University Center鈥檚 guest services desk. On Monday, Oct. 1, WCU faculty and staff, and the public, can begin purchasing tickets at by clicking on the 鈥渦pcoming events鈥 button. They are $7.50 for WCU faculty and staff, seniors and non-WCU students, and $13 for the general public.
