甜瓜视频app鈥檚 Catamount Club is announcing some changes to the popular Greek Challenge, which has been one of the club鈥檚 largest annual fundraising campaigns since its inception in 2014, and issuing a reminder of membership deadlines.

The minor Greek Challenge modifications will align the fundraising activity timeline with WCU鈥檚 fiscal year and Catamount Club membership year, which run from July 1 until June 30 annually.

The adjustments also will mean that contributions to the Catamount Club made through end-of-calendar-year giving and during annual Giving Tuesday and One Day for Western campaigns will all count toward the same Greek Challenge year, said Wes Cogdill, Catamount Club director and WCU associate athletics director.

鈥淭he Greek Challenge has been one of the most successful initiatives in the history of the Catamount Club,鈥 Cogdill said. 鈥淔raternity and sorority members have continued to show up and support our student-athletes in a significant way.鈥

Last year鈥檚 Greek Challenge raised a total of $613,196.16 for the Catamount Club.

The challenge pits members of WCU鈥檚 Greek-letter organizations against one another in a friendly competition to see which groups can raise the most money for the Catamount Club, with a year鈥檚 worth of bragging rights on the line 鈥 along with on-field recognition during a WCU football game.

Gifts to any WCU non-endowed athletics fund that are received from Greek organization alumni between July 1, 2024, and June 30, 2025, will count for the 2025 Greek Challenge. All cash and cash-equivalent contributions will be part of the challenge tally, including pledge payments, stock, cash and gifts-in-kind. While larger pledges are welcome, only actual pledge payments received will count toward an organization鈥檚 Greek Challenge tally.

Challenge winners will be announced in July. Scoring will be based on the total number of donors, the number of new donors and the total amount of dollars raised by each fraternity and sorority. Organizations will receive points based on where they place for each category.

鈥淚f your organization comes in first in a category, you will receive one point,鈥 Cogdill said. 鈥淭he second-place finisher in that category will receive two points, and so on down the line. The organization in each flight with the fewest number of total points wins the challenge.鈥

For the 鈥渢otal donors鈥 category, the number of members who have given toward qualifying funds during the timeline of July 1 through June 30 will count toward that organization鈥檚 Greek Challenge tally. Checks that are mailed to campus will count based on the date on the postmark on the envelope.

The 鈥渘ew donors鈥 category will count the total amount of members who did not participate in the previous year鈥檚 Greek Challenge but who have donated during the current year鈥檚 Greek Challenge.

Finally, the 鈥渢otal dollars raised鈥 category is a tally of the entire amount of dollars raised by each organization given to any WCU athletics fund that is not endowed.

Greek Challenge scores will be updated monthly through April, with updates appearing in a new weekly Catamount Club newsletter between May and June 30.

In addition to changes to the Greek Challenge, the Catamount Club also issued reminders of other important dates on the calendar that should be of interest to members.

The annual One Day for Western, the university鈥檚 all-in day of giving set this year for March 26, will focus in 2025 on raising funds for all Catamount sports teams as well as for academic excellence endowments.

Football season tickets are now on sale. The 2025 renewal deadline for returning season ticket-holders to secure the same seats from the 2024 season is Wednesday, April 30, which also is the deadline for Catamount Club members to renew game day football season parking passes and for the renewal of tables at the Paws Porch and Catamount Corner hospitality areas.

The 2025-2026 Catamount Club membership year will begin July 1, 2025, with membership levels for the year determined by contributions made from July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2025. 鈥淐atamount Club membership benefits for 2025-2026 will be based on gifts made during the previous fiscal year,鈥 Cogdill said.

An updated Catamount Club membership benefits chart can be found on WCU's website.

Membership packages will be sent to Catamount Club members in August prior to the opening home football game of the season Saturday, Aug. 30.
