WCU launches a new guarantee for transfer students
甜瓜视频app has partnered with Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and is pleased to announce an exciting new opportunity. The Western Phi Theta Kappa Guarantee recognizes and rewards PTK members for their community or junior college achievements.
For eligible PTK members who are interested in pursuing campus-based programs at WCU, the new program includes (1) guaranteed admission to the university (not a specific program of study); (2) an invitation to join the Brinson Honors College; and (3) an opportunity to compete for Western PTK scholarships.
WCU is committing 100 scholarships ($100,000) annually for PTK members. Each $1,000 scholarship ($500 per semester for two semesters with potential renewal for one additional year subject to funding availability) can be stacked with other awards and with financial aid, so applicants are encouraged to research other external and internal scholarship opportunities (scholarships.wcu.edu) and to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (finaid.wcu.edu).
At least one scholarship will be earmarked annually for a qualifying student from each North Carolina Community College that has an active PTK chapter. If a student does not enroll from an NCCC college, that scholarship can be awarded to an enrolling student from another chapter.
The PTK scholarship works in conjunction with the NC Promise program, which increases access to quality university education by reducing tuition for all undergraduate students at WCU to $500 per fall and spring semesters for in-state students and $2,500 for out-of-state students.
PTK scholarship recipients also receive priority consideration in their first year for available on-campus housing.
Members from PTK chapters outside of North Carolina are eligible for scholarship consideration as well.
The transfer admission application deadline is April 1, and the PTK scholarship application deadline is April 15.
Eligible PTK members who are interested in pursuing distance programs at WCU receive priority consideration for programmatic admission.
